MISSION
The Vision Training Center was established to provide specialized vision training to students, athletes, children, and adults. Training programs are individualized to each person's particular visual conditions and goals. We do everything we can to make the training experience fun and create an encouraging environment that is challenging, but at a level where success and confidence can be achieved.
When Dr. Griffith discovered the life-changing care of vision therapy, she knew she wanted to have that impact on the lives of children and adults. She wanted to build a practice to help children who were struggling so much in school because of treatable vision problems, give athletes the edge for peak performance through vision training, and help those with visual symptoms following stroke and traumatic brain injury. Her clinical experiences and the amazing changes in the people she worked with solidified her desire to bring vision training to more people and back her home town.
Anna Griffith, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Griffith, a Chico native, completed a residency in Vision Therapy, Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics through Pacific University College of Optometry. During residency, she also gained knowledge and experience in sports vision training from her residency mentor, Dr. Graham Erickson, who works with professional athletes at the Nike World HQ in Beaverton, Oregon. This followed her optometric education at UC Berkeley School of Optometry and undergraduate studies at UC Davis. Her residency included treating patients at Pacific University's pediatric and strabismus referral center, vision therapy clinic, and pediatric clinic, as well as Veterans with traumatic brain injury and stroke at the VA hospitals in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR.
Dr. Griffith treats amblyopia (“lazy eye”) and some cases of strabismus (eye turn), as well as children and adults with eye teaming, tracking, focusing, and visual perceptual problems. Her work includes treating visual dysfunctions in children who are struggling in school, especially with reading.
Dr. Griffith's personal experience and knowledge of many sports is ideal for implementing training programs for the visual skills required for specific parts of the game and for different positions on the field or court.
In her free time, Dr. Griffith likes hiking, playing just about any sport, photography and painting.
